5. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND HOW CBIG USES THEM

What are cookies? Cookies are pieces of information that a Website transfers to an individual's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. The cookie assigns you an ID, which allows CBIG to recognize you when you return to the cbig.com Website. This makes web surfing easier for you by saving your preferences while you are at our site. No personal information is collected. We never save passwords in cookies. The use of cookies is an industry standard -- you will find them at most major Websites. By showing how and when guests use a site, cookies help us see which areas are popular and which are not. Many improvements and updates to the site are based on such data as total number of visitors and pages viewed. This information is most easily tracked with cookies.

How does CBIG use cookies? We use the information from cookies to provide services better tailored to our users' needs. For example, we use cookies to track user trends and patterns. This helps us better understand and improve areas of cbig.com that our users find valuable. While both of these activities depend on the use of a "cookie," visitors to cbig.com always have the option of disabling cookies via their browser preferences.

How can I disable cookies? Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, note that some parts of cbig.com will not function properly or may be considerably slower if you refuse cookies. For example, without cookies, you will not be able to take full advantage of cbig.com's services, or you may have difficulty filling out forms.

Third-Party Cookies: You may occasionally get cookies from third parties. For example, to request a Web service from the cbig.com Website, you may get a cookie from the company that provides this information. CBIG does not control these cookies. The use of cookies sent by third-party servers is standard in the Internet industry.

6. WHAT KIND OF SECURITY IS IN PLACE TO PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Passwords: If you register [or submit a resume], your personal information is password-protected. However, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Therefore, we recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. CBIG will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email. If you have logged into the cbig.com Website, remember always to log out when you have finished using our site. Also remember to close your browser window when you have finished using the site. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe. If you lose or forget your password, we will email it to you.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, CBIG cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or any information provided by our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk. Further, such prior information is never completely removed from our databases due to technical constraints and the fact that we back up our systems.
